About Me
Teacher Traveler Tap Dancer
I grew up in Northville, MI, and graduated from Northville High School in 2009. I then pursued my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Michigan with a Language Arts major and Math minor. I student taught in 5th grade at the Willow Run Intermediate Learning Center in Ypsilanti, MI. This was a racially diverse Title I school that afforded me many opportunities to grow my teaching practice. After graduating from the University of Michigan in 2013, I began teaching 4th grade at Heritage School in Saline, MI, which is where I have taught for the past four years.
I have had the privilege of being trained in Project Based Learning by the Buck Institute, as well as Project Lead the Way and eSpark Learning, and am a Google Certified Educator. I am part of the Next Generation/Student-Centered, Future-Focused program within Saline Area Schools, working to create engaging, authentic learning experiences for students that incorporate the 4Cs (Creativity, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Communication) through the use of instructional technology. I am currently working on my Master of Arts in Educational Technology (MAET) through Michigan State University, and could not be more excited to continue learning about ways to purposefully and meaningfully integrate technology into the teaching and learning process.

Outside of school, I love to read, spend time up north with my family, and play mom to my two adorable cats, Hazel and Lucy. I also love traveling to new places! In fact, every summer, my best friend and I take a road trip adventure to a new area of the U.S.!
A passion of mine is and has always been dance and the theatre arts, particularly tap! I grew up at my dance studio in Northville and have taught ballet, tap, jazz, and fitness classes for over 10 years. I am a certified Zumba Fitness instructor, and love motivating participants of all ages to achieve their fitness and health goals. I have also choreographed for the Dexter High School Drama Club for the past 8 years, and truly love seeing the beautiful stories that these young actors and actresses create through movement on stage.
